This remix is arranged in a modern future bass style by Tomoya Ohtani, focusing primarily on sawtooth synths and wobble bass it also includes the Amen break, a drumbeat that Ohtani uses in several pieces of Sonic the Hedgehog music. Another remix plays in Splatoon 2's Hero Mode when Callie is fought. This track is a remix of Callie's image song from Splatoon, which originally played during the Squid Sisters' concert at Niconico Chokaigi 2016, and could later be heard by scanning Callie's amiibo in the game from the 2.9.0 update.

#SPLATOON 2 MUSIC FULL VERSION#
Interestingly, the trailer uses the full version of the song not heard in Super Smash Bros. The track is used in the Squid Sisters Mii Fighter showcase. The track briefly reappeared in Splatoon 2 during the game's final Splatfest (dubbed the " Final Fest"), where it was one of 5 possible songs that could be played on the first day of that Splatfest. Like with Chirpy Chirps, the Squid Sisters' songs were composed by Shiho Fujii. Along with Calamari Inkantation, this is one of 2 songs that the Squid Sisters can sing in their Assist Trophy, albeit being an abridged version. Taken directly from Splatoon, and performed by the J-pop styled Squid Sisters, Callie and Marie, this track would play during matches when a Splatfest was underway. This track was used in Inkling's character trailer on the official website. It begins with a remix of "Opening", which plays before a match starts, and also includes an upbeat take on "Now or Never!", which plays in Splatoon when one minute is left in multiplayer battles.Īrrangement Supervisor: Shohei Tsuchiya (ZUNTATA)Ĭomposition and arrangement Copyright Nintendo
#SPLATOON 2 MUSIC UPGRADE#
The music of Splatoon 2 is a definite upgrade from that of Splatoon 1. It’s honestly really cool to see timpani and cello being used in conjunction with a DJ, especially when it provides some of my favorite music in the game. This trio of Salmonid musicians form ω-3 and their energetic music. The final member is a cellist in his 50s, the leader and composer of the bunch. The timpanist, in his late 20s, puts his heart into his music, and provides violent rhythms that are an inspiration for the invading Salmonid. The youngest is a DJ who often disses his fellow band members, but their reckless style provides an unpredictable groove to their songs. Ω-3 (pronounced Omega-3) is a band comprised of 3 Salmonid musicians. I thought this was a really neat way to show that Octavio was starting to lose his grip on Callie as Marie joins in to help you.

His harmonies from his Bomb Rush Blush Remix try start to lose control, and the Octarian jingle thrown in remains at the same note. You hear by the end of the song that the DJ is still trying to control the tune, and finds himself overpowered by the Sisters. This song is a beautiful mashup of Bomb Rush Blush and Tide Goes Out, all tied together with the DJ’s own compositions. It only gets better with the penultimate song, Tidal Rush. It’s honestly my favorite song in the game. It really gives the impression of a DJ remixing a song, both in the hard cuts and stops in the song and how Octavio “remixed Callie’s brain”. You can hear the Octarian jingle used multiple times throughout the campaign appear this song. Throughout the music, you can hear records being scratched, electronic sounds blaring in the background, and very many sloppy hard cuts of both his music and Callie’s voice. Amongst the brass and string instruments in his music, Octavio still puts his DJ’ing skills to work. Rather than using a primarily electronic style of music, Octavio remixes his style to an orchestral one. This time, Octavio’s teaming up with Callie of the Squid Sisters to create a brand new, and sinister, remix of Bomb Rush Blush. DJ Octavio makes a grand return in Splatoon 2, this one sporting 2 new songs to dubstomp you down to.
